This is the world famous Iron Bridge. It was built in 1779 and opened in 1781, to span the River Severn at Ironbridge in Shropshire, England and was the first ever to be constructed of cast iron.
Lettering on the bridge ironwork indicates that the casting was done at Coalbrookdale, but records are scarce and it is feasible that foundries at nearby, Bedlam and Horsehay were also used.
From this viewpoint, almost the whole bridge can be seen, including the toll house at the far end.
